Washington D.C - The Wagner baseball team travels to our Nation's Capital on Saturday, March 18 as the Seahawks take on the Holy Cross Crusaders at St. Albans School. Saturday's doubleheader begins at 12:00 p.m.
All-Time Series: Saturday's contest is just the second and third all-time meeting between the two schools, with the Seahawks holding a 1-0 edge, defeating the Crusaders 14-7.
At The Plate: Junior
Kyle Cala (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) is hitting a team-best .357 to lead the Seahawks at the plate. He has added ten runs, two doubles, two home runs, a triple and seven RBIs. Cala is slugging a team-high .595. Sophomore
Phil Capra (North Salem, NY/North Salem) is batting .342 with a team-high four doubles. Capra is one of 85 catchers across Division I to be named to the
2017 Johnny Bench Award Watch List.
On The Hill: Senior co-captain
Danny Marsh (Monroe Township, NJ/Monroe Township) is 1-0 with 0.90 ERA in two starts this season. In his ten innings of work, he has allowed just five hits; one earned run while striking out ten batters and walking just two and limiting opponents to just a .152 batting average.
About The Holy Cross Crusaders: The Crusaders enter play with the Seahawks with a 2-10 overall record, after defeating the USC Trojans, 6-4, last Saturday. Holy Cross was selected first in the Patriot League Preseason Poll. Austin Masel leads the Crusaders with a .340 batting average. George Capen has both of the Crusaders victories on the season as he sports a 1.46 ERA through 12.1 innings pitched in relief.
