Ciaran Wolohan Named 2017 Honorable Mention All-American

2017 ACWPC All-American Team

Bridgeport, PA –
In its second year of existence, the Wagner men's water polo team has its first All-American.

Senior Ciaran Wolohan earned a spot on the 2017 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Men's Division I All-American Team following a tremendous season in which he helped lead the Seahawks to an appearance in the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Tournament (MAWPC) championship game.

A native of Manly, Australia, who spent two years at St. Aloysius College before become a member of Wagner's first-ever men's water polo team in 2016, Wolohan finished the season with 33 points (25 goals, 8 assists), along with 31 exclusions, 13 drawn exclusions, 17 steals and two field blocks.

Wolohan was at its best during the most meaningful games, as he was one of four Seahawks to earned First-Team MAWPC All-Tournament team honors following a 2017 regular season where he was tabbed Second-Team MAWPC.

"Ciaran is one of the young men who took a chance on a first-year program a year ago and I am extremely proud that his play has earned him this distinction," said Chris Radmonovich, the 2017 MAWPC Tournament Coach of the Year, who doubles as the Seahawks head women's water polo coach.

In its second year of existence, Wagner compiled a 9-10 overall record (3-2 MAWPC Easter), highlighted by MAWPC Tournament wins over the host school, Navy (9-8), and top-seeded Bucknell (10-8). The semifinal upset over the Bison moved the Seahawks into the title game where they dropped an 8-5 decision to No. 2-seeded George Washington.
