Men’s Lacrosse Hosts UMass Lowell Today At 3:00 PM Searching For Fourth Straight Win

Led by attackmen Andrew Streilein (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) and Patrick McMenamin (Longport, NJ/St. Augustine Prep), one of the top scoring duos in the Northeast Conference (NEC), the Wagner men's lacrosse team guns for a school-record fourth straight win when the Seahawks host UMass Lowell at Hameline Field today in a 3:00 p.m. faceoff.
 
At 4-3 on the year, Wagner has matched the program record for most wins in a season which was set in 2015. The River Hawks, a member of the America East Conference and in their second season as a Division I program, are 1-5 on the year and led by midfielder Sam Klingsporn and attackman Sean Tyrrell who have scored 15 and 11 points, respectively.
 
Today's game marks the second all-time meeting between the schools as the Seahawks came out on top at UMass Lowell by a 14-6 count in Lowell, MA on February 28, 2015.

Streilein and McMenamin are tied for the team lead in goals (10), while Streilein paces the Seahawks in assists (13) and points (23). Despite playing in just five of Wagner's seven games to date due to injury, McMenamin's 12 points (10g, 2a) rank second on the team.
 
With Streilien and McMenamin, a sophomore and redshirt junior, respectively, leading the way, Wagner ranks 10th nationally in Man-Up-Offense (0.522). Individually, Streilein ranks third nationally in Individual Man-Up Goals (5.0) while McMenamin is 6th (4.0). In addition, Streilein ranks tops the NEC in Man-Up Goals per game (0.71) with McMenamin right behind him in second (0.57). in addition, Streilein leads the conference in assists per game (1.86).
 
Sophomore defenseman Andrew Park (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) leads the Seahawks in caused turnovers with 10. In the faceoff department, junior Anthony Labetti (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) has a .492 winning percentage (32-65), along with 16 ground balls, while redshirt junior William McMenamin (Longport, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) has a winning percentage of .443 (31-70), to go with 25 ground balls.
 
In goal, freshman Matt Sefcik (Towaco, NJ/Morristown Beard School) boasts a goals against average of 8.56, with .522 save percentage on a total of 60 saves.
 
Last time out, Streilein recorded six points on three goals and three assists to spearhead a balanced offensive attack in leading Wagner to an 18-4 victory over Hampton on March 10.
