Nick Dini (Monroe Township, NJ/Monroe Township) can add one more distinction to his impressive resume, All-American.
On Saturday afternoon, the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced the 2015 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. 1 All-America teams and the Rawlings Gold Bat Award. Dini was selected to the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. 1 All-America Third Team after being recognized by the organization as a Northeast All-Region First Team selection on Thursday.
Vanderbilt junior shortstop Dansby Swanson was named the Rawlings Gold Bat Award winner as National Player of the Year. Swanson, the No. 1 overall pick in this year's MLB Draft, is hitting .350 with 15 home runs, 62 RBI and 74 runs scored in 65 games heading into the College World Series. Swanson is Vanderbilt's second ABCA/Rawlings Gold Bat Award winner following David Price in 2007.
