Emmitsburg, MD – The Wagner baseball team's six-game win streak came to a halt as a walk-off solo home run off the bat of Mount St. Mary's catcher Andrew Clow gave the Mountaineers a 6-5 victory in game one of Saturday's Northeast Conference (NEC) doubleheader.
With the loss, the Seahawks fall to 22-16-1 and 10-4 in league play while Mount St. Mary's improves to 10-26, 8-10 in conference action.

Despite recording a scoreless first and second inning, junior right-hander
Mike Adams (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Holy Spirit) gave up five runs while striking out three over four innings of work. Fifth-year senior
Nick Pavia (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph By The Sea) came on in relief and pitched three scoreless innings while striking out three Mountaineers. Senior closer
Steven Bloodworth (Annandale, NJ/North Hunterdon) surrendered the game-winning round-tripper, falling to 2-1 on the season.
Mount scored five times in the bottom of the third as Ryan Owens doubled to right center, scoring Brendan Dabagian and Tommy Quealy. Kory Britton sent a single back up the middle to plate Owens for a 3-0 lead. Facing a 1-1 count, Zach Hostetter smashed a two-run home run over the left-field wall to extend the Mount's lead to 5-0.
Wagner was able to rally in its half of the fourth inning as Dini plated the first run for the visitors on a sacrifice fly to centerfield, scoring Nicosia on the play. A batter later, Godino doubled down the left field line to drive in sophomore SS

Zack Yesko (Mukwonago, WI/Mukwonago) reached on a fielding error by the Mountaineers' third baseman which trimmed the lead to two, 5-3, as Ruta scored on the play.
In the top of the fifth, the Seahawks managed to tie the game at 5-5 as Ruta beat out an infield single to second base which plated senior 2B
Dan Wasilick (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East), who had started the inning with double to right center. Dini reached on Mount's third error of the game as Wagner had runners on first and second with two men out. Mazurkiewicz sent the 1-1 pitch to left field as Ruta came around to score, but Dini was tagged out at the plate as the left fielder gunned out the fourth-year backstop trying to score the go-ahead run.
The Seahawks had a chance in the top of the seventh as they had runners on first and second, but Mazurkiewicz grounded out to the pitcher to end the scoring threat. Pavia was able to silence the Mountaineers' bats in the bottom of the seventh as he struck out Quealy and Owens.
After the Seahawks were retired 1-2-3 in the top of the eighth, Bloodworth entered the game and Clow led off the home half of the eighth by sending a 1-0 pitch over the right field wall for the walk-off game-winner.
