Baseball Travels To Saint Peter's This Afternoon

Jersey City, NJ – The Wagner baseball team travels to Jersey City, NJ to take on Saint Peter's University at 3:30 pm this afternoon in a non-conference tilt at Jaroschak Field.

Sophomore left-hander Alex Amadeo (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph By The Sea) is scheduled to pitch for the Seahawks in this afternoon's contest.

Wagner enters today's matchup 12-12-1 on the season after winning three of four against Northeast Conference (NEC) rival, Fairleigh Dickinson. Sophomore SS Nick Mascelli (Clifton, NJ/Seton Hall Prep), who was named NEC Player of the Week on Monday afternoon, batted .478, going 11-for-23 with 2 doubles, six RBIs and 13 total bases, while posting a .565 slugging percentage and a .571 on-base percentage for the week.  

Senior C/INF Nick Dini (Monroe Township, NJ/Monroe Township) has started in 189 consecutive games. The veteran Seahawk leads the squad with a .389 batting average, 35 hits and a team-high seven stolen bases. Junior INF/OF Ben Ruta (West Windsor, NJ/West-Windsor Plainsboro South) has clubbed a team-leading 3 home runs, including a grand slam in Wagner's 15-5 rout of the Knights on Friday
