Pictured Above: Freshman Andrew Streilein (photo by Jim O'Connor)Geneva, NY – Sean Donnelly sank a put-back shot off of a rebound with one second remaining n the first overtime as Hobart survived a gallant effort by Wagner in remaining undefeated in Northeast Conference (NEC) play this afternoon.
Following today's hard-luck loss, the Green & White are 4-7 on the season and 1-3 in NEC play while Hobart improves to 7-3 overall and 4-0 in league play, which keeps the Statesmen in a first-place tie with Saint Joseph's.
Freshman attackman
Andrew Streilein (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape), a two-time NEC Rookie of the Week selection this season, recorded a hat trick for the Seahawks, along with one assist, giving him a game-high four points.
Junior midfielder
Paul DeVita (Westfield, NJ/Westfield) added one goal and one assist while senior attackman
David DeCirce (Clarence, NY/Clarence) and freshman midfielder
Billy Orme (Great Falls, VA/Langley) chipped in with one goal apiece.
Goalie
Anthony Peruso (Warwick, NY/John S. Burke Catholic) continued his fine senior season with 12 saves on the afternoon.
Brendan Saylor and Matt Opsahl led Hobart with two goals apiece while Jackson Brown came up with 11 saves in goal.
Hobart held a 42-25 edge in shots, led by a narrow 19-17 advantage in ground balls while winning 10-of-16 faceoffs.
