The teams will open play on Friday, May 9 at 3:00 pm before locking horns for a 1:00 pm doubleheader on Saturday, May 10 with Sunday's series finale on May 11 tabbed for 1:00 pm. Leading The Way ...Is senior RHP Kody Kerski, who is 7-1 with 59 strikeouts and a 1.74 ERA over 67.1 innings of work. Sophomore RHP James Cooksey is the top pitcher out of the bullpen and sports a NEC-leading 1.29 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 42.0 innings.
Offensively ...SHU is hitting .264 as a team and is led by senior Conor McEvoy (.340) and freshman Zack Short (.327).

Magic NumbersThe Seahawks are a perfect 6-0 during league play when scoring four runs or more and 6-2 when limiting the opposition to two runs or less.
Bats Come AliveWagner batted a blistering .341 last weekend against Mount St. Mary's with five regulars hitting above .300.
So Does The PitchingIn all four games against the Mountaineers, Seahawk starting pitchers combined to post a 2.15 ERA over 29.1 innings.
Casey On The BumpSenior RHP
Ryan Casey fired his third career 9.0-inning complete game in Wagner's series-opening 13-2 win against the Mount while improving to 3-4 with 23 strikeouts and a 3.30 ERA (9th NEC) over 62.2 innings (4th NEC) of work. Earlier this season, he strung together an impressive 23.2 scoreless inning streak and has gone at least six innings in seven of his 10 starts.
During NEC Play ...Casey is a perfect 3-0 with a microscopic 0.83 ERA (2nd NEC) and a league-low .182 opposing batting average. After last week's performance, the Garden State native is now 11-5, all-time, against league opposition with a 3.63 ERA.
Friday's Match-UpWill pit Casey against Sacred Heart ace Kody Kerski, who is also a perfect 3-0 during league play with an equally impressive 2.33 ERA and 23 strikeouts over 27 innings.
Morris No SlouchSenior LHP
Matt Morris had another impressive outing despite earning a no-decision against Mount St. Mary's in the first game of last Saturday's doubleheader. Morris holds a deceptive 2-5 record with a 3.88 ERA (14th NEC) as the hard-throwing lefty is averaging just 2.0 runs of support per start.
Freshmen UprisingFreshmen
Danny Marsh and
Nolan Long each turned in solid performances last weekend against the Mount. Marsh worked 7.0 innings and yielded just two runs, notching his team-leading fourth win while securing a series split. Long was the tough-luck loser in game three, yielding one run with a career-high six strikeouts over 7.0 innings.
Not BadThus far, Long has limited opposing hitters to a .189 average en route to going 2-2 with 21 strikeouts and a 3.73 ERA over 31.1 innings of work. Additionally, during league play he has a team-leading 13 strikeouts over 22.1 innings.
Smith Swinging A Hot BatLeading the Seahawks last weekend was senior
Chris Smith, who notched two hits in all four games against Mount St. Mary's en route to batting a team-best .571 (8-for-14) with four doubles, four runs and five RBI. The Sunshine state native is batting a team-best .312 (12th NEC) with a league-leading 14 doubles. Additionally, he ranks among the NEC leaders with a .493 slugging percentage (3rd NEC), .411 OBP (6th), 68 total bases (8th), 10 stolen bases (t-9th) and 17 walks (t-9th). During league play, Smith has hit safely in 11-of-16 games with eight multi-hit performances en route to batting a team-best .357.
Have A Weekend MazJunior
Tommy Mazurkiewicz, like Smith, had a big weekend against the Mount, batting .462 (6-for-13) while notching hits in all four games. During league play, Mazurkiewicz is hitting .333 (16-for-48) (14th NEC) with a team-best .467 OBP (3rd NEC).
OUCH!Mazurkiewicz matched
Damian Csakai for the single-season record for being hit by a pitch when he was plunked for the 17th time last weekend. Thanks to his proficiency for finding the ball either with his bat or his body, Mazurkiewicz has reached base safely in 14 of the Green & White's 16 league games.
All-Time vs. Sacred HeartWagner is just 21-29 against Sacred Heart since the school moved to Division I for the 1999 season, including going 11-14 in Staten Island.
Mascelli Continues Solid SeasonFreshman
Nick Mascelli is second on the team and 15th in the NEC with a .307 average while pacing the squad with 51 hits (8th NEC), 22 walks (4th NEC), 14 multi-hit games and a .405 OBP (10th NEC). The freshman shortstop also has a team-best 122 assists while ranking second with 12 runs and is one of just four Seahawk players to start all 44 games this season
Flynn Leads The WaySenior
Shaun Flynn continues to lead the way for Wagner with a team-best 23 RBI and seven multi-RBI games. Additionally, he is tied with Smith for second with 13 multi-hit games.
Gordon Heating UpOver his last 14 games, junior
Jason Gordon is hitting .365 (23-of-63) with 11 RBI, five runs, three doubles, a triple and a .423 OBP while raising his average 90 points to its current .286 mark.
Lynn Lighting It UpOver his last 15 games, sophomore
John Lynn is batting .333 (16-of-48) with seven RBI and four walks.
The Art Of The Stolen BaseJunior
Nick Dini is third in the NEC with 16 stolen bases in an efficient 19 attempts. On defense, the Seahawk catcher has thrown out 39.1 percent (9-of-23) of runners on the bases.
Dini During NEC Play ...The Garden State native has reached base safely in 13-of-16 conference games and batting .310 (18-for-58) with seven runs, six RBI and nine stolen bases.
For His Career ...Dini is hitting .297 (86-for-290) with 15 doubles, three triples, five home runs and 52 RBI over 80 NEC games.
Jersey State Of MindWagner, which has 19 players from the Garden State, has played 13 games against teams from New Jersey, going 9-4.
Adams AssaultSophomore RHP
Mike Adams has 19 strikeouts over 18.1 innings of action and is averaging 9.3 Ks per nine innings while limiting opposing hitters to a .270 average.
Marsh & Casey ...Both rank among the NCAA leaders with 1.84 (139th) and 2.01 (187th) walks per nine innings, respectively.
Saves The DayIn arguably the Green & White's finest offensive performance to date against the Peacocks, reliever RHP
Max Schmardel picked up the most unlikely stat ... a save. Firing 3.1 innings of relief, the Garden State native became the sixth different Wagner hurler to earn a save this season. Schmardel has struck out 11 with a 1.46 ERA over 12.1 innings of action as a junior.
Six-PackThanks to Schmardel's performance, the Seahawks are tied for seventh in the nation as six different players have recorded a save this season. Texas Tech leads the way with eight different players recording stops.
A Day Of FirstsThe Green & White posted its first-ever win against a team from the American Athletic Conference (AAC) against Rutgers while junior RHP
Steven Bloodworth picked up his first win of the season with three strikeouts over 2.2 scoreless innings of work - both of which are season-highs. In his last 13 appearances, Bloodworth has a 2.16 ERA with 14 strikeouts over 16.2 innings.
Casey During NEC Play ...Is an impressive 10-5 with 58 strikeouts, against 24 walks, and a 3.74 ERA over 130 innings. Additionally, when pitching at home during that time Casey is 7-1 with a 2.78 ERA and 36 strikeouts, against just 13 walks, over 81.0 innings.
ImpressiveThe opposition from the Green & White's first five weekend series' (Elon, Texas State, Army, No. 8 Cal Poly, No. 15 UC Santa Barbara) have a combined 151-82 (.648) record.
In The Pros2013 Seattle Mariner 14th round selection
Ian Miller recently started his second pro season with the Clinton LumberKings of the Low A Midwest League and is hitting .263 (20-for-76) with 19 runs, seven walks, five extra-base hits and eight stolen bases over 21 games.

ESPN's SportsCenter after going 4-for-8 with three runs and a pair of RBI as Clinton rallied from a 16-run deficit to defeat Burlington 20-17 on Wednesday, May 7.
At The BallparkWagner holds an all-time record of 93-53 (.637) at Richmond County Bank Ballpark since the program began calling the stadium home for the 2008 campaign. Additionally, the Seahawks are 62-39 (.614) during NEC games and 31-14 (.689) in non-conference match-ups.
2014 NEC PollBryant was tabbed first with Sacred Heart second, CCSU third, Sacred Heart, LIU Brooklyn fourth, Wagner fifth, the Mount sixth and Fairleigh Dickinson seventh.
