Staten Island, NY -
Mount St. Mary's scored four runs in its final trip to the plate to notch a 4-3 come-from-behind win over Wagner in the first game of a doubleheader at Richmond County Bank Ballpark.

With the victory, the Mountaineers improve to 14-21 and 7-11 in the Northeast Conference (NEC) while the Seahawks fall to 13-28 and 6-8 in the league.

Wagner plated two first-inning runs for the second-straight game as senior Chris Smith (Tampa, FL / Ellsworth CC (IA)) and junior Nick Dini (Monroe Township, NJ / Monroe Township) each blooped a pair of one-out singles before junior Jason Gordon (Baltimore, MD / Archbishop Curley) plated the duo with a line-drive single to right center.

The Seahawks would threaten in their next trip to the plate as junior Tommy Mazurkiewicz (Neshanic Station, NJ / Somerville) led off with a triple but would be left stranded while beginning a troubling trend for the Green & White.

Wagner would squander a bases loaded, one-out situation in the fourth before leaving a pair in scoring position in the fifth.

The Seahawks would finally add to the lead in the sixth as Mazurkiewicz belted his third hit of the game with one out before junior Trey Nicosia (State College, PA / State College Area) recorded bunt single. Following a Mount St. Mary's error, Smith delivered a RBI single to center field to plate Mazurkiewicz while extending the lead out to 3-0. Unfortunately, that would be it for the Green & White as Mountaineer rhp Vincent Molesky got the next two outs to leave the bases loaded for the second time in the game.

Mount St. Mary's then erupted for four runs in the top of the seventh while sending 10 batters to the plate. The Mountaineers tied the game on Kory Britton's RBI single through the left side before taking the lead at 4-3 on Ryan Owens' two-out RBI single to right field.

Nick Riley then fired a scoreless frame to record his seventh save of the year.

Senior LHP Matt Morris (Matawan, NJ / St. John Vianney) was outstanding in earning a no-decision on the mound, allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits and a walk with two strikeouts over 6.1 innings.

Mazurkiewicz notched three of Wagner's 10 hits to lead the way on offense while Smith and Dini each went 2-for-4 to round out the multiple-hit performers for the Seahawks.

Owens was 2-for-4 with a RBI to pace an eight-hit Mount St. Mary's attack.

Molesky (4-4) earned the win, striking out four while allowing three runs on 10 hits over 6.0 innings.
