Bryant Defeats Wagner In Game One

Junior RHP Kevin McAvoy fired 7.1 scoreless innings on the mound while 10 different players hit safely to lead Bryant to a 16-0 win over Wagner in the first game of a doubleheader at Conaty Park.

In defeat, the Seahawks fall to 17-32 and 9-12 in the Northeast Conference (NEC) while the Bulldogs improve to 38-12 and 18-3 in the league.

Tom Gavitt was 4-for-4 with a home runs, four RBI and three runs to pace seven multi-hit performers for the NEC Regular Season Champions. McAvoy improved to 8-1 on the season, striking out five while scattering just a pair of fourth inning singles.

Juniors Tommy Mazurkiewicz (Neshanic Station, NJ / Somerville) and Nick Dini (Monroe Township, NJ / Monroe Township) recorded the lone Green & White hits in the game. Senior RHP Ryan Casey (Paramus, NJ / St. Joseph Regional) fell to 4-5 in defeat, allowing seven runs on 11 hits over 4.0 innings.
