Staten Island, NY – Wagner (12-27; 5-7 NEC) kicks off a nine-game homestand with a pivotal series against Mount St. Mary's (13-20; 6-10 NEC) this weekend. The teams will open play on Friday, May 2 at 3:00 pm before locking horns for a 1:00 pm doubleheader on Saturday, May 3 with the series finale set for Sunday, May 4 at 1:00 pm.

Home Cooking
The Seahawks' nine-game homestand is the program's longest since playing nine straight at Richmond County Bank Ballpark in the 2009 season.

Magic Numbers
Wagner is a perfect 4-0 during league play when scoring four runs or more and 4-1 when limiting the opposition to two runs or less.

Looking To Rebound
The Seahawks dropped all four games at Central Connecticut, scoring a combined three runs.

Mascelli Continues Solid Season
Freshman Nick Mascelli is hitting a team-best .308 (17th NEC) while pacing the squad with 45 hits (t-9th NEC), 22 walks (4th NEC), 12 multi-hit games and a .416 OBP (6th NEC). The freshman shortstop also has a team-best 106 assists while ranking second with 19 runs and is one of just four Green & White players to start all 39 games this season

Flynn Leads The Way
Senior Shaun Flynn hit safely in three-of-four games in New Britain while batting a team-best .286 against the Blue Devils. On the year, he is second on the squad in batting (.284) while ranking among the team-leaders with 18 runs, seven doubles, two home runs, 17 RBI and 18 walks. He also has 12 multi-hit games and notched his first career outfield assist at CCSU.

Gordon, Maz Heating Up
Over his last nine games, junior Jason Gordon is hitting .353 (12-of-34) with five RBI, four runs and three walks while raising his average 38 points to .280. Meanwhile, classmate Tommy Mazurkiewicz is batting .308 (8-of-26) over his last eight games.

The Big Hurt
Mazurkiewicz has been hit a NEC-best 15 times and is tied with Director of Operations Eddie Brown for second place on the all-time single-season list. With two more plunkings he will match Damian Csakai's school record set in 2010.

Heavy Hitter
Senior Chris Smith clouted his team-best matching third home run at CCSU. On the year, he is also tied for fourth with a NEC-best 10 doubles while also ranking eighth with a .452 slugging percentage. Smith also paces the squad with 20 runs while hitting .282 with nine stolen bases.

Lynn Lighting It Up
Over his last 10 games, sophomore John Lynn is batting .367 (11-of-30) with a team-best six RBI and four walks. During that time he has raised his average 56 points to .253.

Tough Luck Matty Mo
Senior LHP Matt Morris was a close call at first base away from notching a complete game shutout at Central Connecticut and allowed just one unearned run over a career-high 8.0 innings. Morris, who is 2-5 with a team-leading 25 strikeouts over a team-best 54.0 innings of work, has received just 17 runs of support in his nine starts.

During NEC Play ...
Morris has a miniscule 1.25 ERA over 21.2 innings of work while limiting opposing hitters to a .215 average.

The Art Of The Stolen Base
Junior Nick Dini is third in the NEC with 14 stolen bases in an efficient 16 attempts. On defense, the Seahawk catcher has thrown out 39.1 percent (9-of-23) of runners on the bases.

Dini During NEC Play ...
The Garden State native has reached base safely in 11-of-12 conference games and leads Wagner in batting (.310), hits (13), stolen bases (7) and OBP (.396) in NEC-only action.

For His Career ...
Dini is hitting .296 with 14 doubles, three triples, five home runs and 51 RBI over 76 NEC games.

Sacrificing For The Team
Junior Dan Wasilick leads the NEC with seven sacrifice bunts.

Last Season Vs. The Mount
Wagner hit a blistering .359 while averaging 7.3 runs per game in taking three-of-four from the Mount a year ago in Staten Island. Flynn led the way, batting a team-best .600 (9-for-15) with five runs and a pair of walks.

The Series
The Seahawks hold a 43-33 advantage in the all-time series with the Mountaineers, including going 28-12 when playing in Staten Island. Addtionally, the Green & White is 8-4 at Richmond County Bank Ballpark.

Did You Know?
Wagner assistant coach Chris Collazo went 4-for-5 with a sacrfice bunt over two games against Mount St. Mary's pitching coach Dustin Pease when the two were student-athletes in the NEC. Pease went on to a solid professional career, reaching Double A with the San Antonio Missions of the Texas League.

The Best Around
Head coach Jim Carone was the 2002 NEC Pitcher of the Year while Pease was the 2006 NEC Pitcher of the Year.

Scouting The Mount
Mount St. Mary's is hitting .267 as a team and is led by junior Andrew Clow, who is batting a NEC-best .407 with five doubles, two home runs and 22 RBI. Classmate Kory Britton checks in with a .331 average with a team-best seven doubles. On the mound, graduate students Vincent Molesky (3-4 | 4.22 ERA | 35 K | 12 BB) and Karl Lamont (1-5 | 5.87 ERA | 33 K | 9 BB) lead the way.

Jersey State Of Mind
Wagner, which has 19 players from the Garden State, has played 13 games against teams from New Jersey, going 9-4.

Not Bad
Freshman RHP Nolan Long is limiting opposing hitters to a .195 average en route to going 2-1 with 15 strikeouts and a 4.44 ERA over 24.1 innings of work.

Adams Assault
Sophomore RHP Mike Adams has 19 strikeouts over 18.0 innings of action and is averaging 9.5 strikeouts per nine innings while limiting opposing hitters to a .243 average.

Solid
Through 37.0 innings, sophomore RHP Danny Marsh has struck out 21 while yielding just six walks en route to posting a 3-3 record.

Saves The Day
In arguably the Green & White's finest offensive performance to date against the Peacocks, reliever RHP Max Schmardel picked up the most unlikely stat ... a save. Firing 3.1 innings of relief, the Garden State native became the sixth different Wagner hurler to earn a save this season. Schmardel has struck out 10 with a 1.59 ERA over 11.1 innings of action this season.

Six-Pack
Thanks to Schmardel's performance, the Seahawks are tied for seventh in the nation as six different players have recorded a save this season. Texas Tech leads the way with eight different players recording stops.

Casey Coming On Strong
Despite seeing his 23.2 inning scoreless streak snapped in a no-decision against NJIT, senior RHP Ryan Casey has been lights out over his last three starts - all Wagner wins. During that time he has a 0.91 ERA with 10 strikeouts over 19.2 innings. On the year, he paces the Seahawks with a 3.52 ERA 53.2 innings of work.

Man Of Many Gloves
Dini is leading Wagner in positions played (5) as the 2013 NEC First Team selection has seen time at catcher (23 games), second base (6 games), shortstop (1 games), third base (12 games) and DH (1 game).

Impressive
The opposition from the Green & White's first five weekend series' (Elon, Texas State, Army, No. 8 Cal Poly, No. 15 UC Santa Barbara) have a combined 143-72 (.665) record.

In The Pros
2013 Seattle Mariner 14th round selection Ian Miller recently started his second pro season with the Clinton LumberKings of the Low A Midwest League and is hitting .286 (12-for-42) with 10 runs, five walks, four extra-base hits and three stolen bases over 12 games.

Dini Named To Johnny Bench Award List
Dini was one of 72 backstops to be named to the official watch list for the 2014 Johnny Bench Award presented by BaseballSavings.com.

At The Ballpark
Wagner holds an all-time record of 90-51 (.638) at Richmond County Bank Ballpark since the program began calling the stadium home for the 2008 campaign. Additionally, the Seahawks are 60-37 (.619) during NEC games and 30-14 (.682) in non-conference match-ups.

2014 NEC Poll
Bryant was tabbed first with Sacred Heart second, CCSU third, Sacred Heart, LIU Brooklyn fourth, Wagner fifth, the Mount sixth and Fairleigh Dickinson seventh.

Carone In The Pros
Carone has helped 16 of his former players, including 12 pitchers, sign contracts with Major League teams since 2006. Last year, Miller was taken in the 14th round of the 2013 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
