Staten Island, NY -
Junior Tommy Mazurkiewicz (Neshanic Station, NJ / Somerville) scored the game-winning run on a fielding error to lift Wagner to a thrilling 3-2 come-from-behind win over NJIT in the second game of a doubleheader at Richmond County Bank Ballpark.

Trailing 2-1 entering the ninth, senior Shaun Flynn (Tabernacle, NJ / Burlington CC) led off with a single before pinch-runner Evan Fardella (Fr., Bartonsville, PA / Pocono Mountain East) moved to second on John Lynn's (So., Wallingford, NJ / Salesianium (DE)) sacrifice bunt. Mazurkiewicz followed with a hard-hit single to right field while advancing Fardella to third. Tyler Kapp then struck out the next batter before junior Trey Nicosia (State College, PA / State College Area) delivered a game-tying RBI double to left field to score Fardella while moving Mazurkiewicz to third. Nicosia's career-high third hit and second two-out RBI set the table for the Green & White walk-off victory while also avenging a 5-0 game-one loss to the Highlanders.

Wagner improves to 10-23 with the win while NJIT falls to 11-16.

After being shut out in the first game, the Seahawks struck first with a second-inning run in the nightcap. Flynn led off with a hard-hit single up the middle before Lynn drew a four-pitch walk. The pair then moved up to second-and-third on a Mazurkiewicz sacrifice bunt. After Ian Bentley got the second out, Nicosia opened the scoring with an infield single to plate Flynn.

In the top of the third, the first two Highlander hitters singled but would get no further as Casey buckled down and quickly retired the next three batters.

After a quick 1-2-3 fourth, Casey ran into some trouble in the fifth but escaped unscathed thanks to some impressive defense. Rex MacMillan reached via a one-out error but was retired when Teddy Bickert's fly ball dropped and senior Zack Yesko (Mukwonago, WI / Mukwonago) alertly gunned out the lead runner at second. Casey then induced an inning-end fly out.

One inning later, NJIT appeared as though they would finally break through as Mike Rampone and Ed Charlton each worked walks to lead off the frame. However, as he had done all game Casey buckled down and induced a 6-4-3 double play grounder before striking out Tom Bouck for the final out.

Casey then worked a 1-2-3 top of the seventh before running into trouble in the eighth. Teddy Bickert led off with a single before moving to third on Matt Weckerle's single through the left side. On the play, Weckerle took second while chasing Casey from the game. Pitching before two busloads of people from his hometown, sophomore RHP Mike Adams (Egg Harbor, NJ / Holy Ghost Prep)struck out the first batter he faced before Ed Charlton hit a two-run double to right field to give the Highlanders a 2-1 lead. Adams would recover to strike out the next batter before inducing an inning-ending grounder.

Adams would go on to work a 1-2-3 ninth and struck out three over 2.0 innings of one-hit relief while improving to 1-2 on the season. Casey earned a no-decision, allowing two runs on six hits with three strikeouts over 7.0 innings

Nicosia went 3-for-4 with two RBI to pace an eight-hit Wagner attack while Flynn recorded his team-best 11th multi-hit game, finishing up 2-for-4 with a run.

Kapp (1-2) earned the loss, allowing two runs, one earned, on three hits over 1.2 innings.

Bickert was 2-for-4 with a run to lead the way for NJIT, which recorded seven hits.

The teams will conclude their series tomorrow at Riverfront Stadium in Newark with first pitch slated for 1:00 pm.
