Lawrenceville, NJ
- David Hafer struck out 10 and allowed just two unearned runs over seven innings of one-hit ball in leading Rider (10-20) to a 9-4 win over Wagner (8-22) in non-conference action at Sonny Pittaro Field.

Senior Shaun Flynn (Tabernacle, NJ / Burlington CC) led the way for the Seahawks, going 2-for-4 with a RBI and a walk while notching his team-best matching ninth multi-hit game.

Wagner opened the scoring with a pair of unearned runs in the first inning on the strength of two Bronc errors as both freshman Nick Mascelli (Clifton, NJ / Seton Hall Prep) and senior Chris Smith (Tampa, FL / Ellsworth CC (IA)) scored.

Rider then answered with a pair of unearned runs of their own to tie the game up in the bottom part of the frame before taking its first lead of the game at 4-2 with two more unearned runs in the bottom part of the second.

The Seahawks then threatened in the top of the third, loading up the bases with two outs on walks to Dan Wasilick (Jr., Toms River, NJ / Toms River East), Tommy Mazurkiewicz (Jr., Neshanic Station, NJ / Somerville) and Flynn. Unfortunately, the runners would be stranded as Hafer induced an inning-ending pop up.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Broncs scored the first earned run of the game on James Locklear's RBI ground out in extending the lead out to 5-2.

After loading up the bases in the third, Hafer settled down and retired the next 12 batters he faced before plunking Jay Farrell (Newtown Square, PA / Pomfret School (CT)) with two outs in the seventh. Wasilick then reached via an error and Mascelli ripped a single up the middle for the first Green & White hit of the game. Unfortunately, on the play Farrell would be thrown out at the plate for the final out of the frame.

Rider responded to the scare with with a pair of runs in the bottom part of the frame before Wagner answered with a Brendan Benecke's (Fr., Jackson, NJ / Jackson Liberty) RBI single through the left side that scored sophomore John Lynn (Wallingford, PA / Salesianum School (DE)) while trimming the deficit to 7-3. Unfortunately, the damage could have been greater as the Seahawks left the bases loaded.

The Broncs then added to the lead with two more runs before Flynn plated Wasilick in the top of the ninth to provide the final 9-4 score.\

Freshman LHP Brad Currao (Howell, NJ / St. Rose) fell to 0-3 on the year, yielding four unearned runs over 2.0 innings in work.

Wagner returns to action on Thursday, April 17 when it welcomes Saint Peter's to Richmond County Bank Ballpark with first pitch slated for 6:00 pm.
