Staten Island, NY -
Freshman RHP Nolan Long (Waterford, CT / South Kent) pitched seven dominating innings of one-run ball while four different hitters recorded at least two hits in leading Wagner to a 5-1 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson at Richmond County Bank Ballpark.

With the win, the Seahawks take the series by a 3-1 count while improving to 8-21 and 5-3 in the Northeast Conference (NEC). The Knights, meanwhile, fall to 7-18 and 1-7 in the league.

Wagner quickly pounced on Fairleigh Dickinson with two runs in the bottom of the first. With one out, senior Chris Smith (Tampa, FL / Ellsworth CC (IA)) singled through the right side before Nick Dini (Jr., Monroe Township, NJ / Monroe Township) was plunked. After the pair executed a successful double steal, senior Shaun Flynn (Tabernacle, NJ / Burlington CC) plated the pair with a two-run single back up the middle.

Long retired the first eight batters he faced before the Knights struck for a third-inning run. Shane Siebler worked a two-out walk before Dylan Sprague singled through the left side. Ryan Brennan then chased home Siebler with a single up the middle to slice the deficit to 2-1.

The Seahawks immediately responded with a two-out rally of their own. Flynn singled on the first pitch he saw from Brendan Butler and moved to second on a throwing error. Junior Tommy Mazurkiewicz (Neshanic Station, NJ / Somerville) then singled to right field to score Flynn while extending the advantage to 3-1.

Armed with a two-run lead Long took it from there, allowing just two hits over his final four innings of work..

FDU threatened in the top of the eighth as Shane Siebler worked a leadoff walk before Dylan Sprague got ahead in the count 2-0. Undaunted, sophomore LHP Paul Mammino (Hillsborough, NJ / Hillsborough) induced a soft liner for the second out before get the next two outs without incident.

Wagner then added two more runs in the bottom part of the frame to extend the lead out to an insurmountable 5-1. Mazurkiewicz led off with a single before freshman Brendan Benecke (Jackson, NJ / Jackson Liberty) earned a four-pitch walk. Junior Zack Yesko (Mukwonago, WI / Mukwonago) then faked the bunt before slapping the ball through the left side, plating Mazurkiewicz while moving Benecke to third. Lynn followed with his third hit of the game, capping the scoring with a RBI single to left field to score Benecke.

Mammino then got the final three outs to become the fifth different Seahawk hurler to earn a save on the season.

Mazurkiewicz was a perfect 3-for-3 with a walk on the day while Lynn was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a RBI to highlight a 12-hit Green & White attack.

Flynn also had a big day, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and a walk, while Smith was 2-for-4 with a stolen base to round out the multi-hit performers for Wagner.
