Staten Island, NY –
The Wagner men's lacrosse team hosts first-year Northeast Conference (NEC) member Hobart tonight at 7:00 pm at Hameline Field in the program's first-ever home night game.

Under the direction of third-year head coach Matt Poskay, the Seahawks will be gunning for their third win of the season and enter the contest at 2-7 overall, 0-2 in the NEC. The Statesmen, who hail from Geneva, NY, are 3-7 on the season and 2-2 in conference play.

Adding to the festivities is the fact that it is Senior Day for the Seahawks. In a pre-game ceremony, the Wagner men's athletic program will honor its three seniors who are set to graduate next month – goalie Nicholas Gibaldi (Rocky Point, NY/Rocky Point), midfielder Matthew Shute (Suffield, CT/Suffield) and defenseman David Szilezy (Apex, NC/Cardinal Gibbons).

Wagner is paced in scoring by the sophomore tandem of Griffen Leclaire (White Rock, BC/Toronto, Hill Academy) and Patrick McMenamin (Longport, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) who enter tonight's play with identical offensive statistics as each has amassed 22 points on 12 goals and 10 assist.

Another sophomore, Paul DeVita (Westfield, NJ/Westfield), who sank the winning goal in the Seahawks' epic 7-6, four-overtime thriller over Monmouth on February 26, ranks third on the team in scoring with 13 points (10 goals, 3 assists).

In his fourth season as a starter, Gibaldi boasts an 11.58 goals against average to go with a .495 save percentage, while logging more than 500 minutes between the pipes. Freshman Anthony Labetti (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) has assumed the primary faceoff duties for the Seahawks in place of the injured William McMenamin. In six games played, this promising first-year performer has won 36-of-70 (.514) faceoffs.

Following tonight's final home tilt of the season, the Seahawks conclude the 2014 regular season with NEC road dates at Sacred Heart (4/15), Mount St. Mary's (4/19) and Bryant (4/26).

NOTE – Wagner College president, Dr. Richard Guarasci, will host a pre-game gathering of administrators and representatives from Hobart College. Prior to arriving on Grymes Hill, Guarasci was Dean of Hobart College, where he was also a faculty member, serving as a Professor of Political Science, from 1992 to 1997.
