Wagner Returns To NEC Play Against Fairleigh Dickinson

Winners of five-straight games, Wagner (9-14; 2-2 NEC) will look to keep its recent hot streak going against a Fairleigh Dickinson (3-18; 0-8 NEC) squad that has lost nine-straight games.

High Five
During their five-game winning streak, the Seahawks have scored 49 runs, after notching just 69 in their first 18 games, while batting .374 with 49 hits, 45 RBI and 12 stolen bases.

St. John's Slammer
The Green & White rallied from a 10-run deficit to defeat the defending NCAA Super Regional participant Red Storm by a 22-16 count.

The Most Since ...
Wagner's 22 runs against St. John's were the most scored by the Seahawks since posting a 22-8 win over Manhattan during the 1991 season.

Streak Snapped
The Green & White defeated SJU on the road for the first time since April 11, 1978 while snapping a 14-game road losing streak to the Red Storm. All-time, Wagner is 2-24 when playing in Jamaica.

The Seahawks' come-from-behind win came before a nationally televised audience on ESPN3.

Around The Diamond
After batting around just four times in its first 22 games of the year, Wagner sent at least nine men to the plate in three-straight innings against the St. John's.

Season-Highs
The Seahawks recorded a season-high 22 runs and 22 hits in their victory against the Red Storm while seeing their average rise 14 points from .245 to .259.

A Selfless Act
Wagner had three sacrifice flies against St. John's after notching just three in its first 22 games of the year.

Miller Mashing
Junior Ian Miller extended his team-best hitting streak to 12 games with his second four-hit game in his last three outings and the third of his career against the Red Storm, finishing up 4-for-5 with four RBI, three runs, two walks and two stolen bases. During the streak, Miller - who is leading the Seahawks with a .358 average, 16 runs, 20 RBI and 20 stolen bases - is hitting .479 (23-for-48) with 16 RBI, 12 RBI and nine stolen bases.

Multi-Hit Magic
Miller has also recorded four-straight multi-hit games and is batting .706 (12-for-17) with 11 RBI during that time. On the year, he has a team-best nine multi-hit games.

Toppling The Giants
Wagner is now a perfect 2-0 on the year against the Big East, and is hitting .379 as a team over wins against Villanova and St. John's. Miller is batting a team-best .667 (6-for-9) during that time while freshman Ben Ruta checks in with a .625 average (5-for-8) with five runs and four RBI.

Mazurkiewicz Breaks Out
After failing to record a RBI in his previous five games, sophomore Tommy #Mazurkiewicz# drove in a career-best five while matching his career high with three hits in the win over the Red Storm.

Freshmen Hurlers Step Up
Wagner freshmen pitchers Paul Mammino (3-0) and Nathan Hunt (2-1) have combined for five of the Seahawks' nine wins.

With One More Win
Mammino would become the first Seahawk rookie to win his first four decisions since Jack Rice started out 4-0 in 2008.

Coaching Comparison
Two days after St. John's head coach Ed Blankmeyer collected his 600th win, Green & White head coach Jim Carone bettered the long-time Red Storm skipper with his 31st victory.

Last Year Against FDU
All four games were decided by were decided by four runs or less with the Knights taking three, including the series finale in walk-off fashion.

Leading The Way
Miller hit a team-best .429 (6-for-14) against Fairleigh Dickinson pitching last year and is a career .435 (10-for-23) hitter against the Knights. Additionally, he has recorded multiple-hits in five of his six career starts against FDU.

Non-Conference Notes
After dropping 12 of its first 14 non-conference games, the Seahawks have won five-straight non-league games, highlighted by three shutouts.

At The Ballpark
Wagner holds an all-time record of 76-39 (.661) at R.C.B.B. since the program began calling the stadium home for the 2008 campaign. Additionally, the Seahawks are 49-28 (.636) during NEC games and 24-11 (.686) in non-conference match-ups.

Steal City
The Wagner has 358 stolen bases over the last four years while leading the conference each season and this year has been no different. The Seahawks are again at the top of the league rankings with 43 stolen bases (52nd NCAA) in just 23 games. At its current rate of 1.87 steals per game (25th NCAA), Wagner would finish with 102 steals while bettering the previous record of 98 set in 2010. All told, since the start of the 2009 campaign the Seahawks are 401-for-511 on stolen base attempts.

Eight Is Great
In Wagner's 6-4 series-finale win over the Pioneers, the Seahawks were a perfect 8-for-8 on the bases while notching the most stolen bases by a NEC team since the 2010 season. On the year, Monmouth has just eight stolen bases.

Bailey On The Bump
2006 Wagner College graduate Andrew Bailey made his 2013 debut for the Boston and struck out Kevin Youkilis on a 95 mph fastball to help the Red Sox to a 8-2 win over the New York Yankees.

2013 NEC Poll
Bryant was tabbed first with CCSU second, Monmouth third, Sacred Heart fourth, LIU Brooklyn fifth, Wagner sixth, FDU seventh, Quinnipiac eighth and the Mount ninth.

NEC In The Major Leagues
Joining Andrew Bailey in the Major Leagues from the Northeast Conference (NEC) is former CCSU hurler Evan Scribner (Oakland A's) and former Monmouth pitcher Brad Brach (San Diego Padres).
