Wagner Returns Home To Face Quinnipiac
The Wagner College women's basketball team plays its first home game in 21 days when first-place Quinnipiac comes to Staten Island for a Saturday afternoon NEC contest. It will be the final NEC meeting between the two schools, as the Seahawks do not travel to Hamden, CT this year, and the Bobcats are leaving the NEC at the end of the season.

The Seahawks are looking to pick up a win following a 73-58 loss at Mount St. Mary's on Monday. A second-half comeback attempt fell short in a game in which freshman Jordyn Peck tallied 20 points to lead all scorers.

Peck leads the Seahawks with 11.2 ppg, with senior Marie-Laurence Archambault and sophomore Stephanie Blais each adding 10.1 ppg. Senior Veronick Fournier has pulled down a team-best 5.5 rpg, while sophomore Jacqui Thompson has dished out a team-leading 4.0 apg.

Scouting The Bobcats
Quinnipiac is off to a program-record start of 17-2, and leads the NEC at 8-0. The Bobcats are coming off an 82-73 win over CCSU in Hamden on Monday night, in which redshirt-senior Felicia Barron scored a team-high 25 points.

The Bobcats have three players in double-figures in scoring: Barron at 16.3 ppg, sophomore Jasmine Martin at 13.3 ppg, and junior Brittany McQuain, who is averaging 11.0 ppg and a team-high 7.9 rpg. Sophomore Gillian Abshire leads Quinnipiac with 5.3 apg.

All-Time vs. Quinnipiac
Saturday's meeting is the 28th between the two schools, with the Bobcats holding a 21-6 advantage. This is the third consecutive year in which the schools will meet only once, with Quinnipiac having taken the lone meeting in each of the past two seasons.

Last Time vs. Quinnipiac
Kelly Clark, Stephanie Blais and Jacqui Thompson were all in double figures for the Seahawks at the TD Bank Sports Center on Jan. 28, 2012, but the Bobcats emerged victorious, 77-60. Quinnipiac's Felicia Barron led all scorers with 17 points.

Air Jordyn
Freshman Jordyn Peck has scored 20 or more points in three out of the past six games since being inserted into the starting lineup on Jan. 12. In NEC games, Peck is averaging 17.1 ppg, good for fourth in the NEC.

Here's To You, Chanez Robinson
Redshirt-senior Chanez Robinson grabbed a season-high eight rebounds on Monday at Mount St. Mary's, adding 11 points for the Seahawks in an efficient 18 minutes off the bench.

Wild Horses Couldn't Drag V Away
Senior Veronick Fournier is the lone Seahawk to start in each of the team's first 19 games so far this year. Fournier is third in the NEC in minutes played during conference games at 37.3.

Movin' Out
Saturday's game will be the final NEC meeting between Wagner and Quinnipiac, as the Bobcats will leave for the MAAC following the 2012-2013 school year.

Home Sweet Home
Saturday's game is the first in a stretch of six out of seven home games for the Seahawks, following a five-game road portion of the NEC schedule. The Seahawks have four road games remaining on the schedule, with three of the four under an hour away.

Grand Theft Basketball
Wagner has come up with 10 or more steals in seven games this season, including each of the Seahawks' last three contests. Wagner recorded a season-high 14 steals against St. Francis Brooklyn (Jan. 12). Sophomore Stephanie Blais had five thefts against the Terriers, a career high.

MLA Style
Senior Marie-Laurence Archambault begins Saturday's game just 34 points away from joining the Seahawks' 1,000-point club. There have been 22 1,000-point scorers in Seahawk history, most recently Kelly Clark, who reached the mark last season.

20/20 Vision
The performances by sophomore Stephanie Blais (24 points) and freshman Jordyn Peck (22) at LIU Brooklyn (Jan. 14) marked the first time two Seahawks scored 20 or more points in a game since Joy Gallagher (23) and Chelsey Bunyer (20) achieved the feat on Feb. 18, 2006.

More For The Mantle
Freshman Jordyn Peck won her third Choice Hotels NEC Rookie of the Week award of the year Jan. 15 after a pair of 22-point performances in her first two collegiate starts.

Blais All Day
Sophomore Stephanie Blais scored a career-high 24 points in the Seahawks' win at LIU Brooklyn (Jan. 14), going 9-for-16 from the floor and pulling down six rebounds in the victory. Blais' Monday performance came after an effort of 14 points, seven rebounds, six assists and five steals against St. Francis Brooklyn in the previous game (Jan. 12).

You Will Not Make This Shot

The Free Throw Line Is Your Friend
The Seahawks took a season-best 23 free throw attempts in the win at LIU Brooklyn (Jan. 14). It was the fourth consecutive game in which Wagner took double-digit trips to the line, and extended the streak to seven games on Saturday at SFU. The Seahawks are 2-1 in games when the team takes 18 or more free throw attempts.

If I Can Make It There...
The Seahawks have played two road games within the five boroughs of New York City so far this season, and are 2-0 in those games. Wagner defeated Columbia in Manhattan (Nov. 14), and won against LIU Brooklyn in a game across the Verrazano (Jan. 14).

Uno, Dos, Tres, Catorce
The number 14 has been very good to the Seahawks this season. Wagner is 2-0 on the 14th of the month, with wins over Columbia (Nov. 14) and LIU Brooklyn (Jan. 14). The Seahawks' season-high in steals is 14 against St. Francis Brooklyn (Jan. 12). In addition, the team's second-leading scorer, Marie-Laurence Archambault, wears No. 14.

Boards Aren't Boring
Three Seahawks tallied career-highs in rebounds vs. FDU (Jan.5) Senior Marie-Laurence Archambault and freshman Jordyn Peck each grabbed eight rebounds, while redshirt-freshman Ebony Jennings had seven. The 27 defensive rebounds were the second most this season, trailing only the 36 recorded at Columbia (Nov. 14).

Amorosa Named To All-Tournament Team
Junior Laura Amorosa was named to the Saint Joseph's Hawk Classic All-Tournament Team for her play against UMBC (Dec. 28) and Fairfield (Dec. 29). Amorosa tallied a career-high seven rebounds in the first game against UMBC, following it up with nine points against the Stags.

Les Habitants de Staten Island

Here We Go, Ugo
Sophomore center Ugo Nwaigwe grabbed a career-best 10 rebounds against Iona (Dec. 1), and tied her career-high in points, tallying eight on the afternoon.

Threes Fallin'
Wagner has made at least eight three-pointers in seven games this season. The Seahawks tallied nine made shots from outside the arc against FDU (Jan. 5), St. Francis Brooklyn (Jan. 12) and Mount St. Mary's (Jan. 28), in addition to four games making eight: vs. Army (Nov. 9), Lehigh (Nov. 23), New Hampshire (Dec. 17), and UMBC (Dec. 28).  The only team with more games of eight or more made three-pointers is Saturday's opponent, Quinnipiac, with nine.

Numero Uno
The Nov. 14 victory over Columbia was the first in the head coaching career of Lisa Cermignano. The Seahawks' first-year coach served as an assistant at Maryland, Monmouth, George Washington, Vanderbilt, and Illinois before joining Wagner.

Cutting Through the Ivy
The win at Columbia (Nov. 14) moves the Seahawks to 16-7 all-time over the Lions, and 22-17 against the Ivy League. The Seahawks are 5-7 vs. Princeton, 1-1 vs. Dartmouth, and 0-2 vs. Harvard.

Coach Cermignano Announces Class Of 2017
