Marie-Laurence Archambault (Montreal, Quebec/ Montmorency) and freshman
Jordyn Peck (Shaker Heights, OH/ Shaker Heights) were both in double-figures in scoring for the third straight game, but the Wagner College women's basketball team fell to Central Connecticut, 82-53, at Detrick Gymnasium on Saturday. In the defeat, the Seahawks fall to 2-14, and 1-4 in NEC play, while the Blue Devils improve to 9-7 and 3-2 in conference action.
Peck tallied 17 points for Wagner, with Archambault adding 13. Sophomore
Jacqui Thompson (Southampton, PA/ St. Basil Academy) tallied nine points, playing 25 minutes off the bench in her first game since Jan. 7.
The two teams traded baskets for much of the first 10 minutes of play, with the Seahawks holding an 18-16 at the 9:41 mark of the opening stanza. Less than a minute later, CCSU's Kirsten Daamen made a pair of baskets, tying the game and then taking the lead for the final time for the Blue Devils.
The first half featured seven scorers for the Seahawks; Archambault led the way with 10, Peck added seven, with the game's other three starters - sophomore

Veronick Fournier (Gatineau, Quebec/ Montmorency) - along with Thompson and redshirt-freshman
Ebony Jennings (Monroe Twp., NJ/ Monroe) all finding the scorer's column in a first half that ended with CCSU leading, 43-31.
The Blue Devils opened the second half on a 23-3 run over the first 7:49, extending the lead to 66-34. The teams then went back and forth, with Thompson making three consecutive baskets for the Green & White. Wagner outscored CCSU, 15-11, over the final 9:10 of the game.
The Seahawks return to action on Monday when the Green & White travel to the Ocean State for a 5:00 game against in Bryant in Smithfield, RI.
NOTES: Archambault's 13 points put her within 34 of Wagner's 1,000-point club ... Both Archambault and Peck have been in double-figures in scoring in five of their last six games ... Jennings recorded a career-high five points for the Seahawks in the game.
