Cody Isdaner (Fladwyne, PA/Episcopal Academy) but it was not enough as Bryant ran past Wagner 17-6.
With the loss, the Seahawks fall to 0-5 on the season while the Bulldogs improve to 5-2 on the season.
The Seahawks hung tough in this game early and trailed by just a 3-1 count after the first quarter. The Bulldogs then came out blazing in the second quarter, out-scoring Wagner 6-2 in seizing a commanding 9-3 halftime lead. Bryant then tacked on four goals in both the third and fourth quarters in fashioning the 17-6 final score.
Sophomore attack
Mike Hurley (Billerica, MA/Bellerica) and freshman attack Colin O'Rourke (Worcester, MA/St. John's Shrewsbury) each scored one goal apiece for the Seahawks. Hurley also had an assist as did sophomore midfielder
Cory Perkins (Chatsworth, CA/Chaminade College Prep). Senior goalie
Michael Gutkin (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township) had 11 saves for the Seahawks.
The Bulldogs were led offensively by Matt Larson, who tallied four goals, while Peter McMahon and Max Weisenberg each tallied three goals for the victors.
Bryant held a sizeable margin in every major statistical category, out-shooting Wagner 51-19, while holding a 46-17 edge in ground balls. Bryant also won 20-of-24 faceoffs on the afternoon.
Wagner is next in action on Wednesday, March 24 when the Seahawks host Sacred Heart in a 3:30 pm faceoff.
