Staten Island, NY - Six different Seahawks finished in the top 10 of the 1500 meter run at the Wagner College Invitational held Saturday. Freshman
Thomas Iannacone (Havertown, PA/St. Joe's Prep) led the pack with a 4:13.26 finish. Behind him in second place was junior
James Johnston (Middle Island, NY/Longwood) at 4:13.39, in third was
Brian Halling (Amherst, NY/Souhegan) at 4:19.58, in fifth was freshman
Dylan Moulton (Saco, ME/Thornton Academy) at 4:28.00, in sixth was sophomore
Brian Doxey (West Islip, NY/West Islip) at 4:30.12, and ninth junior
William Berger (Hopewell, VA/Sullivan CC) at 4.33.48.
Sophomore
Derek Schultz (Ocean Port, NJ/Shore Regional) had another impressive week for the Seahawks. He finished third in the 100 meter dash with at 11.35 and in the 400 meter dash with time of 50.83. Both times were his best this season. From there Schultz went on to claim fourth place honors in the 200 meter dash at 22.96.
Sophomore
Derek Rammelkamp (Miller Place, NY/Miller Place) took third in the 5000 meter run with 16:04.78, while junior Kevin Kearny (Haddonfield, NJ/St. Joe's Prep) finished second in the 800 meter run at 2:02.24. Freshman Robert Macdonald also did well in the 800m, placing eighth with time of 2:05.48.
The men's relay teams continued to impress again this weekend. The 4x800 meter relay group of Iannacone, Johnston, Moulton, and Mancuso was tops among the field at 8:31.73. The 4x400 team of Doxey, Kearney, Macdonald, and
Matt Villane (Monmouth Beach, NJ/Shore Regional) placed second at 3:34.23.
In the field events, Blake Lintleman (Coral Springs, FL/West Point Military Academy) shined - tooking fourth in the shot put with a 13.16m throw and finishing first in the discus with mark of 35.64m.
The men return to action on Wednesday when Wagner is scheduled to host a Quad Meet.
