LAKE PLACID, N.Y. — Men's track & field alumnus Alex Taddeo is set to participate in Bobsled Push Camp with Team USA Bobsled/Skeleton at the Mt. Van Hoevenberg Olympic Sports Complex.
A graduate of Wagner in May 2026, Taddeo was a strong sprinter who led the Seahawks in a 2026 NEC Outdoor Championship. Invited to participate as a rookie, Taddeo will learn how to translate his track skills to the basics of bobsled.
Held at the site of the 1980 Olympic Games, the facilities at Lake Placid hold the only indoor ice track in the nation, which allows athletes to train year round. The Push Championships kick off the sliding season, with both individual and combination competitions held to assist the organization in making team decisions for the World Cup and other events.
While at camp, Taddeo will be evaluated for potentially taking roles as either bobsled pilots or push athletes. The push athletes are the ones relied on for strength and speed, while pilots must also be skilled in driving.
At the conference championships in 2026, Taddeo won gold with the 4x100 relay team, silver in the 100m dash and bronze in the 200m. Taddeo has three gold medals, two silvers and a bronze in a four-year career with the Seahawks.
Taddeo's camp will begin October 5 and concludes on Sunday, Oct. 11, where he can potentially be selected to represent Team USABS in its season.
