RICHMOND, Va. — Hitting their stride as the team works its way into outdoor season, Wagner earned nine top-ten finishes at Richmond's Fred Hardy Invitational on Friday.
Sophomore Christine Manneh had a big performance to open her outdoor season, winning the 100m dash with a 12.22-second time. She also clocked in at 25.72 seconds in the 200m to finish seventh.
Junior Magui Calvo-Jorge ran a 4:44.89 1,500m to finish 11th, followed closely by junior Victoria Ann Dziubela in 18th with a 4:51.48 time. The two, joined by sophomore Kate Connolly and senior Angela Cavalieri, finished 11th in the 4x400 relay with a 4:20.19 time. Junior Rylee Ferretti ran a 17:34.96 time in the 5,000m to finish in third for her first meet of outdoor season.
In the field events, freshman Rikayla Bingham took eighth place in high jump with a 1.50m clearance. She also logged a 10.41m triple jump to finish fifth and added a 4.63m long jump. Sophomore Mia Petersen finished fifth in long jump with a 5.44m mark. Petersen also took third in triple jump with an 11.33m performance. In pole vault, senior Saranda Capani cleared 3.05m to finish fifth. Junior Dayana Rodriguez, representing Wagner in the throws, logged a 40.13m hammer throw to take third place.
Next up, Wagner heads to the Monmouth Home Opener, beginning Friday, March 27 in West Long Branch, New Jersey. Hosted by Monmouth at Kessler Stadium, the meet wraps up Friday, March 28.
