NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — Wagner scored 79.50 team points on the way to a sixth-place finish at the 2026 NEC Outdoor Championships.
Sophomore Christine Manneh led the way for the Seahawks, capping off a massive sophomore campaign by earning Most Outstanding Performer of the sprinters after winning a pair of golds.
Manneh won the 100m dash final on Sunday with a 12.00-second time, also winning gold in the 200m with a 24.55-second finish.
Wagner came into Sunday with 13 team points. In pole vault, senior Saranda Capani finished on the podium, splitting third place for 5.5 team points after clearing 3.35m. The triple jump helped get the team scoring early, with sophomore Mia Petersen, senior Julia Garcia and freshman Rikayla Bingham finishing fourth, fifth and eighth to combine for ten team points.
Senior Angela Cavalieri added four more in the 3,000m steeplechase, clocking in at 11:38.98 alongside freshman Olivia Roldan-Casado, whose 12:17.73 time earned seventh. Cavalieri also added a point with an eighth-place finish in the 5,000m.
The 4x100 relay team, composed of sophomore Nicolina Siracusa, Manneh, sophomore Jasmine Burney and junior June Fernandez, took fourth place with a 48.81-second time. Fernandez and Burney also represented Wagner in the 400m, finishing fifth and seventh, respectively.
Juniors Magui Calvo-Jorge and Victoria Ann Dziubela went fourth and fifth in the 800m for nine team points, clocking in at 2:19.20 and 2:19.22, respectively.
Wagner closed out the day with a fifth-place finish in the 4x400 relay, with Burney, Manneh, senior Angel Okafor and Fernandez running a 4:00.58 time.
Next up, the Seahawks will send a small contingent to the Princeton Elite meet on Saturday, May 16 to make a final push to make qualifying marks for NCAA Regionals.
