STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Wagner competed in its final meet of the 2025-2026 indoor season before the NEC Championship next week, closing out the regular season at the FastTrack National Invite.
Sophomore Mia Petersen finished fourth in the long jump invitational, posting a 5.36m performance as her best of the season. She also logged an 8.05 time in the 60m invite preliminary. In the high jump invitational, freshman Rikayla Bingham logged a 1.50m clearance to finish tenth.
Sophomore Kate Connolly ran a 5:20.07 mile and sophomore Jasmine Burney logged a 1:02.79 time in the 400m dash. Freshman Rehanna Syed ran a 10:56.98 time in the 3,000m, followed by freshman Jaslene Merizalde, who ran an 11:44.60 time.
In the cages for weight throw, junior Dayana Rodriguez logged a 13.30m throw to finish 15th in a field of 43. Rounding out the field events for the Seahawks, senior Saranda Capani cleared 3.05m in pole vault.
Next up, the Seahawks will return to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex for the NEC Indoor Championships, beginning Sunday, Feb. 15 with preliminaries across the track events, while finals are held in men's weight throw, men's and women's long jump, women's pole vault, men's high jump and women's shot put.
Monday. Feb. 16 will feature closing ceremonies, finals in the track events, relays and finals for the women's weight throw, men's and women's triple jump, men's pole vault, women's high jump and men's shot put.
