BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Freshman Noah Grant and senior Christopher Milillo have each picked up NEC weekly honors again, with the conference office announcing Grant as Co-Track Athlete of the Week and Rookie of the Week while Milillo takes home Co-Field Athlete of the Week.
The awards were awarded after the two competed in separate meets over the weekend, with Grant at Boston University's John Thomas Terrier Classic and Milillo at The Armory's Millrose Games.
Grant competed in the 200m invite on Saturday, finishing fourth in a field of 27 runners with a 21.35 time. He also ran the second leg of Wagner's 4x400 relay team that logged a 3:19.87 on the way to finishing 11th of 28 teams.
On the road as well but much closer to home, Milillo was at The Armory with an invitation to compete in the 118th Millrose Games, where he set new program record with 19.45m weight throw on Friday. With that mark, the senior finished fifth of 10 competitors.
Joining Grant and Milillo, senior Alex Taddeo was named Prime Performer for his weekend at the John Thomas Terrier Classic. He posted a 6.94 time in the 60m dash invite preliminary to finish sixth of 21 runners, then clocked in at 21.93 in the 200m invite. On the women's side, sophomore Christine Manneh was also named Prime Performer after her time in Boston, where she took seventh place in the open 200m, running a 24.87-second race. She also finished 12th in the 60m dash preliminary, logging a 7.76-second time.
Next on the schedule, the Seahawks head to the FastTrack National Invite on Friday, Feb. 6 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. This is the team's final meet of indoor season before the NEC Championships begin on Sunday, Feb. 15.
