NEW YORK, N.Y. — Wagner hit the road for the first time this season, taking a contingent to compete in the Dr. Sander Scorcher at The Armory.
Freshman Chase Rogers logged a big performance in the open 400m, running a 50.68-second time in section 11 to finish second. Senior Dante Rodney joined Rogers in the event, finishing 11th with a 51.09 time.
Two Seahawks went back-to-back in the long jump, with sophomore Ty Lawless finishing fourth and junior Khalid Brown in fifth. Lawless logged a 6.80m jump, with Brown just behind at 6.79m.
Senior Eskil Njerve logged a 4.05m clearance in pole vault to finish sixth. Junior Jack Mason logged a 14.13m performance in the triple jump invite. In shot put, senior Franklin Simms posted a 14.58m throw.
In the 400m invite, senior Arjanvir Singh ran a 50.61 time to finish eighth. Graduate Justin Morris represented the Seahawks in the 3,000m, running a personal-best 8:38.17 race to finish seventh.
Freshman Noah Grant ran a seven-second 60m dash preliminary to finish 14th in his first collegiate meet at The Armory. Freshman Ersell McCullen logged a 9.06 time in the 60m hurdles.
Sophomore Jaden Hobbs finished tenth in the open 200m, logging a 22.57-second time from section two. Junior Michael Seawright and sophomore Ignacio San Juan logged 23.99 and 24.68 times, respectively. Wagner's lone representative in the 800m, San Juan also logged a 2:00.00 time in that event. In the mile invite, graduate Florian Hinry also ran a personal best, finishing with a 4:11.44 time.
Junior Eric Marquez logged a 4:23.99 mile time, joined in the event by junior Joel Solomon (4:28.53) and freshman Joseph Perazzo (4:42.40). Marquez and Perazzo logged personal bests with their times.
Next up, Wagner will split up, heading to the Mets Indoor Championship and Boston University's John Thomas Terrier Classic on Friday, Jan. 30. Held in Boston, Massachusetts at Boston University's Track & Tennis Center, the John Thomas Terrier Classic will wrap up on Saturday, Jan. 31.
