BOSTON, Mass. — Wagner closed a three-meet weekend on Saturday at Boston University's John Thomas Terrier Invite, taking home four top-ten finishes.
Freshman Noah Grant continued to dominate in his rookie season, logging a 21.35-second time in the 200m invite to finish fourth. Senior Alex Taddeo joined Grant in the 200m invite, running a 21.93-second time. Taddeo also finished sixth in the 60m dash invite preliminary, clocking in a 6.94 time to qualify for the final.
Sophomore Jaden Hobbs finished sixth in the open 60m dash, running a 7.09-second time in a field of 49 runners.
In the field events, senior Julio Martinez competed in his first meet of the season, finishing third in pole vault of a field of 16 with a 4.60m clearance. Junior Khalid Brown logged a 6.50m long jump.
Senior Dante Rodney finished 12th in the 400m dash, running a 49.32 time in a field of 111. Freshman Chase Rogers also ran the 400m, logging a 50.21-second time for a top-50 finish. Running the 4x400 relay for the Seahawks, Rodney ran the opening leg, followed by Grant and Rogers, then anchored by senior Arjanvir Singh to finish with a 3:19.87 time, good for 11th place.
Freshman Ersell McCullen appeared in two events, logging a 9.11-second time in the 60m hurdles invite preliminary round, then later logging a 22.34 time in the open 200m. Joining McCullen in the 200m were junior Michael Seawright (23.40), junior Khalil Wason (23.75) and sophomore Sal DelPesce (24.05).
In the 800m, sophomore Ignacio San Juan logged a 1:55.78 time, followed just behind by junior Nigel Boboli with a 1:56.16 time. In the 1,000m, freshman Joseph Perazzo ran 1 2:40.57 race.
Graduate Florian Hinry ran a 4:19.50 mile time, while freshman Joel Solomon finished the 3,000m in 8:49.58, joined by junior Eric Marquez who finished in 9:03.31.
Next up, the Seahawks will compete in the FastTrack National Invite on Friday, Feb. 6 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex as their final meet before the conference championship.
