Women's Fencing Takes Down FDU

HACKENSACK, N.J. — The Wagner women's fencing team won its duel match against FDU on Tuesday, 17-10.

The foils won their section 5-4, led by junior Renata Ziganova, who won all three of her bouts.

In epee, the combination of freshman Ashley Pullara, sophomore Maria Lopez Meneses, and senior Sofia Lopez Meneses won four straight bouts to push them over the edge. FDU would take the last two bouts of the epee round, but it wasn't enough as Wagner won 5-4.

The sabres had the best night among the three weapons. Junior Morrigan Adams and freshman Sydney Brock each won all three of their bouts, while freshman Louann Perrier added another win to make the final sabre score 7-2.

The Seahawks will return to the strip on Sunday, Feb. 22, when they travel to LIU for the Shark Showdown.
