Falls Church, VA - The Wagner women's fencing program has been recognized by the United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) as a top-five program in team GPA, the association announced Thursday.
With a 3.76 team GPA, the Seahawks placed fourth in the country in the 2023 Collegiate Academic Award list. They are joined by Brown, Harvard, Vassar and Yeshiva as programs that cracked the top-five in team GPA.Â
In addition to the team's recognition, ten student-athletes were named All-Academic by the USFCA. Nine of the ten were also recognized as Scholars of Distinction, which is awarded to those who achieved an in-season GPA of 3.7 or higher.Â
Six student-athletes of the women's fencing team also earned 4.0 GPAs during the season.
