STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. –
The Wagner College women's basketball team hosts Le Moyne for a 7:00 p.m. tip on Thursday, Jan. 22 at the Spiro Sports Center.

Wagner (7-10, 3-3 NEC) climbed to 3-3 in conference play following a 50-45 victory over New Haven on Saturday. After trailing 30-29 at the end of the third, the Seahawks outscored the Chargers, 21-15, in the fourth to secure a five-point win at home.

Redshirt junior Klea Kaci led the Seahawks offensive attack with 15 points on 7-8 (87.5%) shooting from the free throw line. Junior Lijirin Doyinsola Modesayor added nine points.

Wagner shot 17-47 (36.2%) from the field while New Haven shot 13-47 (27.7%); concurrently, the Seahawks shot a 12-18 (66.7%) from the free throw line while the Knights shot 16-23 (69.6%) from the charity stripe in the game.

Since the start of conference play, the Seahawks rank atop the NEC in steals per game with 9.2 and first in the conference in blocks per game with 3.3.

Since the start of the new year, Foz ranks second in steals per game within the NEC at 2.1 steals per contest. Senior Hawa Balde-Camara sits second in the conference in blocks per game with 1.0. Both Foz and Balde-Camara ended last season in first place in their respective categories.

The Seahawks were picked to finish seventh in the conference's preseason coaches poll.

A win on Saturday would improve Wagner's conference mark to above .500% for the first time since the Seahawks were 2-1 following a loss at Saint Francis on Jan. 8.

Le Moyne (5-14, 3-3 NEC) fell to Chicago State by a score of 61-55 on Saturday night. Nick Dipillo runs the helm of the New Haven coaching staff and is in her second season with the Dolphins.

Junior Ashley Buragas leads the Dolphins' offense averaging 11.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Sophomore Eli Clark chips in 9.6 points and 3.1 rebounds.

Among the NEC, the Dolphins rank first in free throw percentage (74.7%) and third in three-point percentage (31.8%). Le Moyne was picked fourth in the NEC preseason coaches poll.

The all-time series record sits at 1-3, as Le Moyne became a Division I full-time member within the NEC prior to the 2024-25 season. Most recently, Wagner defeated Le Moyne by a score of 61-56 on Feb. 13, 2025 at Spiro.

After taking on Le Moyne, Wagner travels to LIU for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off at the Steinberg Wellness Center on Saturday, Jan, 24.
