Staten Island, NY - The second-seeded Wagner College women's lacrosse team is scheduled to face-off against the third-seeded LIU Sharks in the semi-final round of the 2025 Northeast Conference (NEC) Tournament on Thursday, May 1 at 1:00 pm at W.B. Mason Stadium on the campus of Stonehill College.

Six Seahawks were named onto the NEC's 2025 postseason First Team and Second Team All-Conference rosters, announced on Wednesday. Â

For Wagner, senior Ella Marino, senior Katie Siverson, senior Angelina Skowronski, and graduate student Ryan Murphy were selected onto the NEC's first team while senior Kendra Hall and junior Erin Rooney found themselves on the conference's second team.

The last time the Seahawks' placed four student-athletes on the NEC's All-Conference First Team was back at the end of the 2021 season.

Regular Season Success
The Seahawks share the regular season title with Stonehill and LIU, both programs finished their 2025 NEC seasons with a record of 8-1. For the second time in the NEC's 28-year history, three teams hold a portion of the conference's regular season title.

Wagner completed the 2025 regular season with an 8-6 overall record.

For the first time in program history, three different Seahawks were selected as the NEC's Defensive Player of the Week during the same season - Murphy, Skowronski, and Rooney.Â

The Green & White had one recipient of the conference's Player of the Week honor. On Saturday, April 26, Siverson scored five goals, caused three turnovers, and collected one ground ball on six shot attempts in the Seahawks' 11-10 overtime victory against NEC newcomer Mercyhurst to earn a share of the NEC's regular season crown for the third time in program history.Â

Siverson scored all three of Wagner's first half goals, recording a hat-trick in the first 4:14 of game time.Â

Wagner set a new program-record with a conference win percentage of 88.9% after going 8-1 this during the 2025 season. This mark eclipses that of the 2023 roster that went 7-1 for an NEC win percentage of 87.5%.

After starting the year 0-5, the Green & White have won eight of their last nine games, only dropping a non-conference matchup with Ivy league member Columbia on April 2.Â

As a team, Wagner is first in draw controls per game with 15.33, second in goals per game with 13.44 and second in shots on target per game with 23.78.

Individually, Marino ranks third in points per game with 3.38 and fourth in goals per game with 2.63.Â

Hall ranks second in assists per game with 1.67 and sixth in points per game with 3.11.

Skowronski is tied for second in caused turnovers per game within the NEC with 1.89.

The Matchup
In the previous meeting between Wagner and LIU, the Seahawks came away with a 12-11 overtime win on Hameline Field back on March 26 after junior Emily Ryan scored a free position goal to cap of a three-goal two-assist performance with less than one minute to go in the first period of extra time.

The Seahawks are 7-1 against the Sharks in the two teams last eight meetings.Â

LIU's Ava Burns was named the NEC's Defensive Player of the Year, Julia Trainor was named Midfielder of the Year, Mylie Norton was named Goalkeeper of the Year, with Head Coach Meghan McNamara-Cafiero and staff winning the 2025 NEC Coaching Staff of the Year.Â
