Biography

2025 (Junior Season): Started in all 14 games she appeared in. Rooney led the Seahawks in ground balls with 31, caused 17 turnovers, and collected two draw controls. Scored her first goal as a member of the Wagner lacrosse program at Delaware State on 4/9 on a free-position shot. Named the NEC's Defensive Player of the Week after recording 9 ground balls and causing 8 turnovers against Columbia and Le Moyne on 4/2 and 4/5, respectively. Second Team All-NEC.  

2024 (Sophomore Season): Appeared in 14 games while making 12 starts. Rooney logged career-highs in appearances, starts, ground balls, and caused turnovers. The Arthur, Ontario, Canada native had nine ground balls and 11 caused turnovers.

2023 (Freshman Season): Made three appearances while notching one ground ball against FDU on 4/1.

Before Wagner: Played for the women's Team Ontario box lacrosse team for 4 years. Also played on the Team Ontario field lacrosse team in 2021. Grew up playing boys box lacrosse, I started playing field lacrosse when I was 16, in 2019
