Men’s Lacrosse Falls At Le Moyne

Syracuse, NY - The Wagner College men's lacrosse team fell to the Le Moyne Dolphins by a score of 9-4 on Ted Grant Field on Saturday afternoon.

Wagner jumped out to a 2-0 lead just five minutes into the contest. Junior Jake Mitchell and senior Danny McMahon were responsible for the Seahawks first two scores, respectively. 

Senior Dylan Haase received an assist on McMahon's goal. 

Before the first quarter came to a close, Le Moyne tied the game at two. After a scoreless second quarter, the two teams went into the halftime locker room tied, 2-2. 

In the first half, the Seahawks put four more shots on target, collected 14 more ground balls, and won four more face-offs than the Dolphins. 

In the third quarter, Le Moyne outscored Wagner, 4-1, to take a 6-3 lead heading into the final frame of play. 

Danny McMahon scored his team-leading 17th goal of his sophomore season off of a pass from Jake Mitchell, who recorded his team-high ninth assist of his junior season with 1:28 left in the third quarter.

The Seahawks were unable to catch the Dolphins in the final frame of play, as Le Moyne outscored Wagner, 3-1, in the fourth quarter to earn a home victory over the Seahawks by a score of 9-4.

Senior Patrick Caldwell scored his sixth goal, unassisted, of the season with 4:49 remaining in the game.

In the second half, Le Moyne collected eight more ground balls while winning seven more face-offs than Wagner. 

Sophomore Colin Sabia led the defensive charge for the Seahawks with four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Junior Nico Kross collected three ground balls and caused two turnovers while freshman Sean Sanchez picked up three ground balls and caused one turnover. 

With the loss, the Seahawks fall to 1-10 on their 2025 season, and possess a 1-4 record in Northeast Conference (NEC) play.  

Le Moyne improves to 7-3 on its season with a 4-0 record in conference action.

Next up, Wagner will continue NEC play as the Seahawk will travel to Detroit Mercy on Saturday, April 12 for a noon opening face-off against the Titans.
