Track & Field Has Strong Weekend At Bison Outdoor Classic

Lewisburg, Penn. — Wagner track and field posted another big weekend of performances in a three-day weekend meet at Bucknell's Bison Outdoor Classic.

Senior Gia Comerford finished in tenth in the 1500-meter run invite, finishing with a 4:27.93 time. Junior Laura Trenado's 4:30.58 time was good for fourteenth in the same event.

Junior Angela Cavalieri's 10:55.41 finish earned her second place in the 3000-meter run. Sophomore Rylee Ferretti ran a 36:00.00 time in the 10000-meter run for twelfth place of 46 runners. Senior Ruth-Ann Chambers won the 100-meter hurdles with a 13.65-second time.

The women's 4x400-meter relay team, made up of Chambers, Trenado, sophomore June Fernandez and sophomore Magui Calvo-Jorge, placed eighth with a 3:56.43 time.

 

Junior Elisa Parazzi's 1.58-meter clearance was good for fourth place in high jump and freshman Mia Petersen's 1.58-meter long jump landed her in sixteenth place. Petersen also posted an 11.56-meter triple jump to finish fourteenth and round out her weekend.

In the men's 400-meter dash, freshman Julio Tatis ran a 48.14-second time for sixth place. In the 3000-meter run, sophomore Eric Marquez's 8:46.56 time was good for tenth place of 53 runners in the event.

The men's 4x100-meter relay team also had a top-ten finish, with freshman Jaden Hobbs, sophomore Shawn Keegan, sophomore Jack Mason and freshman Julio Tatis running a 41.96-second time for eighth place.

The 4x400-meter relay, made up of Keegan, sophomore Nigel Boboli, junior Dante Rodney and freshman Ignacio San Juan, ran a 3:24.24 time for fourteenth place.

Senior Kharlin Watkins landed in first place in the high jump with a 1.98-meter jump. He also posted a 6.56-meter jump in the long jump to finish in thirteenth place.

Finishing behind Watkins in the high jump, sophomore Branden Coleman's 1.88-meter clearance was good for ninth place. Junior Julio Martinez had a 4.71-meter clearance in the pole vault invite to finish in fourth place.

In addition to running in the 4x100-meter relay, Mason had a 6.67-meter jump in the long jump to finish in eighth place. Junior Franklin Simms had a 50.66-meter discus throw to finish in fifth.

Next up, Wagner's teams will split up and head to both the Rider and Rutgers Relays on Saturday, April 19.
