Outdoor:
All-Rookie NEC Team (Discus)
Finished fourth at the NEC Championships with a distance of 47.65m in the discus. Recorded personal best of 48.62m in the discus at the Rutgers Relays, placing sixth overall. Finished fourth at the Monmouth Season Opener in the discus with a distance of 47.09m.

Before Wagner: Simms attended St. Augustine Prep where he competed in the discus, winning the Atlantic County and Cape-Atlantic League Championships. Simms also finished third at the Meet of Champions. His personal-best throw, 191.11, ranked third in CAL history at that time. Simms is also a member of the Wagner College football team.
