Bridgewater, NJ – Ruth-Ann Chambers, Kharlin Watkins, and Christine Manneh of the Wagner track & field teams have received weekly honors from the Northeast Conference (NEC).
The Seahawks kicked off their outdoor season with a strong showing at the Fred Hardy Invitational hosted by Richmond University, where they delivered standout performances. Across both the men's and women's teams, Wagner claimed five event titles and secured 28 top-ten finishes in the competitive 22-team meet.
Senior Ruth-Ann Chambers was named NEC Women's Track Athlete of the Week after winning the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.04, topping a field of 23 competitors.
Senior Kharlin Watkins earned NEC Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors, winning the high jump with a 2.00-meter leap, while also placing fourth in the long jump with a 7.05-meter jump.
Freshman Christine Manneh was named NEC Rookie of the Week, finishing second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.34, just 1.8 seconds behind the winner.
Along with Chambers, Watkins, and Manneh, senior Gia Comerford, junior Franklin Simms, junior Julia Martinez, and senior Adrian Pocesta were recognized as NEC Prime Performers for their exceptional performances.
The Seahawks will next compete at the Colonial Relays, hosted by William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, from April 4 to April 5.
