Urbana, MD – The Wagner men's golf team secured a fifth-place finish at the Carpetbagger Classic, hosted by Binghamton at Worthington Manor Golf Club over the weekend.
The Seahawks placed fifth out of 16 teams in the competition, with each team fielding five players. The best four scores from each round contributed to the team's overall total.
Junior
Alavid Melo Iturralde led the way for Wagner, finishing in third place after shooting an even-par 72 on both days. Graduate student
Thomas Choi tied for 17th with a +5 overall score.
Freshman
Emilio Zapiain finished tied for 22nd with a +6, while fellow freshman
Daniel Cassidy tied for 50th with an overall score of +11. Senior
Michael Foley rounded out the team, tying for 75th with a +16 overall.
The Green & White will return to action next weekend at the Battle at Rum Pointe, hosted by Iona, from Friday, March 28 to Saturday, March 30 in Berlin, MD at Rum Pointe Seaside Links.
