Gaya Savran Earns Rookie Of The Meet; Women's Swimming & Diving Earns Top-4 At NEC Championship

Geneva, OH - The Wagner College women's swimming & dive team finished in fourth place at the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship on Saturday night.

The Seahawks finished with 540 points throughout the five days, only trailing Saint Francis, Howard, and CCSU in overall standings. 

Freshman Gaya Savran won the Rookie Of The Meet.

During the meet, Savran secured a first place finish in 2:01.30 in the 200-yard butterfly. sophomore Rebekka Luoto secured first place in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:16.27. Right behind Luoto was junior Lia Vendel who finished in third place with a time of 2:20.29. Freshman Mia Goodale finished in second place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.98.

To close out the competition, In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Goodale alongside Luoto, senior Allie D'Allegro and freshman Kaylin Lila finished in second place with a time 3:23.60.
