BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Wagner women's cross country's Rylee Ferretti has been named NEC Athlete of the Week for a second straight week after her ninth-place finish at the Paul Short Run, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
It's been a pair of ninth-place times that have earned junior Ferretti the award, the first coming in CCSU's Ted Owen Invite and the second coming on a 21:14.20 time in the 6K at Lehigh's Paul Short Run. Her finish led the team on the way to a 21st-place finish in what is the nation's largest intercollegiate cross country meet.
Senior Laura Trenado also earned a Prime Performer nod from the conference, finishing 33rd at the Paul Short Run with a 21:46.30 time as the third NEC athlete to cross the finish line.
The Seahawks are back in action Friday, Oct. 17 at the IC4A/ECAC Championships, held at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, New York.
