BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Wagner junior Rylee Ferretti from the women's cross country team has been selected at the NEC's fall Scholar-Athlete, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
Ferretti finished the fall 2025 semester with a 4.0 GPA, currently holding a 3.978 institutional GPA at Wagner. A transfer in from Rutgers, the junior currently boasts a 3.832 cumulative GPA. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in English.
A Staten Island native, Ferretti won the individual cross country title to cap off her junior season, finishing the women's 6K with a 22:19.50 time to lead the team to second place at the 2025 NEC Championship. She was Wagner's first woman to win the individual award since 2001. The 67-point performance for second place was the best finish for the Seahawks since taking the championship in 1993.
Also an elite distance runner for the Seahawks on the women's track & field team, Ferretti took bronze at the NEC Indoor Championship in the 5,000m run, clocking in at 17:15.68 to close out the season. She is currently competing in outdoor season, heading next to Richmond's Fred Hardy Invitational on Friday, March 20.
