LEWISBURG, Pa. — Wagner wrapped up a solid week at the Bucknell Fall Invitational with a T-13 finish after rounds of 291, 294, and 299 for an 884 total on the par-70 Bucknell Golf Club.
The Seahawks opened fast behind a pair of red- and even-par cards, then battled steady, blustery conditions over the final 36 to hold their spot in a deep regional field.
Senior
Renato Gerena set the tone from the start, firing a first-round 69 and closing with a composed 72 to post 215 (+5) and claim 10th individually. Freshman Cooper Joyce matched par in the opener with a 70 and finished at 221 (+11), while sophomores
Daniel Cassidy (224, +14) and
Guillermo Ochoa Valencia (224, +14) provided key counting scores — Ochoa's 71 stood as Wagner's low card in round two, and Cassidy stacked back-to-back 74s to steady the lineup.
The Seahawks' first-day surge (291) put them firmly in the mix, and they answered on day two with a balanced 294 highlighted by Ochoa's one-over 71. Wagner closed with 299 behind Gerena's 72 as the Green & White secured their top-half tie on the final nine.
Wagner turns the page to its fall finale on Oct. 27 and 28 at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Championship in Montclair, New Jersey.
