Women’s Cross Country Picked To Finish Third In NEC Preseason Coaches Poll

Bridgewater, NJ - The Wagner women's cross country team was picked to finish third in the 2024 NEC Preseason Coaches Poll, the conference announced today. 

The Seahawks, who finished fifth at the 2023 NEC championship meet, trailed only CCSU and Stonehill. 

Saint Francis U, LIU, Le Moyne, FDU and newcomers Mercyhurst and Chicago St. completed the bottom of the list. 

Leading the charge for the Seahawks is 2x All-NEC selection, junior Laura Trenado and 1x All-NEC selection, senior Gia Comerford. Trenado placed 5th at last season's championship meet while Comerford placed 14th. Graduate Elizabeth Szambel and Graduate Ana Blanco Duran also finished in the top 30 in last season's championship meet.

The Seahawks will begin their 2024 campaign as they travel to Stony Brook on Saturday, August 31, for the Stony Brook Invite.
