Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College softball team dropped game one against FDU with a score of 1-0 Friday, May 3.
Both teams were held scoreless going into the fifth inning until FDU earned one run in the top of the fifth off of one hit.
The Seahawks battled the next three innings earning three hits from freshmen Sydnie Trujillo, Sydney Chargualaf and sophomore Jordyn Dulken. The late rally was cut short forcing a score of 1-0 with FDU earning the victory.
In the circle for the Seahawks was freshman Karson Zavala. Zavala threw seven complete innings while only giving up six hits and dishing out seven strikeouts.
Next up, the Seahawks will host FDU to conclude the series with a doubleheader Saturday, May 4 at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM.
