Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College Softball team dropped both games in its doubleheader against Saint Francis University (SFU) Saturday, April 27 with scores of 1-5 and 0-4.
Game One Recap: Wagner 1-5 SFU
In game one, both teams were scoreless until the top of the third when SFU took a 1-0 lead. The Seahawks bounced back scoring one run in the bottom of the third off of a double steal by senior Samantha Tran and freshman Leilani Gonzales.
SFU scored two runs in the top of the fifth and two more in the top of the seventh. The Seahawks could not get the bats going and would drop the first game with a score of 1-5.
Game Two Recap: Wagner 0-4 SFU
In game two, both teams were scoreless until the top of the sixth inning when SFU took a 3-0 lead.
The Seahawks made a late effort to rally in the bottom of the sixth with a single up the middle by Tran but would be cut short.
The Red Flash put one more run on the board in the seventh inning forcing a score of 0-4.
The Seahawks are back in action Sunday, April 28 to conclude the series with a single game at 12:00 PM.
