Salisbury, MD – The Wagner College baseball team earned a dominant 23-8 road victory in its series-opener at UMES on Friday afternoon.
The 23 runs mark the most runs for the Green and White since earning a 23-9 victory against LIU Brooklyn in 1996.
The Seahawks opened the scoring with six runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back, scoring three in the second, two in the third, three in the fifth, six in the seventh, and three in the eighth inning to cruise to the victory.
Junior
Mateo Matthews recorded two home runs on the afternoon, while junior
Albert Serrano led the Seahawks with four hits, including one home run. Mattrhews, Serrano, and senior
Ariv Camacho tied for the team lead with four RBIs apiece, while redshirt senior
Xavier Ulrich logged three RBIs in the win.
As a team, Wagner combined for 16 hits and 18 walks throughout the contest, as the Seahawks improve to 16-6 in Northeast Conference (NEC) action on the season. Wagner's 18 walks are tied for the sixth-most walks in a game in Division I this season.

Frankie Wright earned the win on the mound to improve to 6-4 on the year after tossing five innings, with junior
Andrew Stanley tossing four innings in relief.
