Syracuse, NY – The Wagner College softball team earned a 4-3 victory in game two to split the first two games of a Northeast Conference (NEC) series at Le Moyne on Saturday.
In game one, Wagner fell 6-5 in 13 innings.

The Seahawks got on the board early and took a 3-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI triple by freshman
Lea Rachal and an RBI single by freshman
Sydnie Trujillo.
The Dolphins fought back with one run in the third and two runs in the fifth to tie the game at 3-3.
Neither team could score for the rest of regulation, sending the game into extra innings. In the top of the eighth inning, a fielding error by the Dolphins allowed Trujillo to score to give Wagner a 4-3 lead. Sophomore
Natalie Rodriguez shut the door in the bottom half of the inning, retiring the Dolphins in order to give the Seahawks the win.
Freshman
Abby Moran pitched five innings for the Seahawks, before Rodriguez pitched three scoreless innings to earn the victory.
The Seahawk offense tallied six hits, with Rachal leading the way with two hits in the contest.

The Seahawks took the lead in the first inning of game one on an RBI single by sophomore
Jordyn Dulken and an RBI by Trujillo.
Le Moyne tied the game in the seventh inning to send the game into extras. An RBI by junior
Justine Carranza in the 10
th inning gave the Seahawks the lead and another RBI by Dulken helped Wagner re-take the lead again in the 11
th, but the Dolphins tied the game both times before earning the walk-off win in the 13
th.
Rachal led the Seahawks with three hits, while Trujillo, Dulken, and junior
Kate Wolf had two hits apiece.
The two teams will conclude their series on Sunday at noon.
