Trenton, NJ - The Wagner baseball team earned an 11-1 victory over Le Moyne in its series opener on Friday at Trenton Thunder Ballpark. All nine starters garnered a hit in the affair, totaling 13 hits on the afternoon.
Behind a terrific outing from junior Frankie Wright, the Seahawks used two late-inning rallies to comfortably take the victory over the Dolphins.
After Le Moyne tied it up at one a piece in the fourth, the Green & White tacked on the runs in the sixth and eighth,
In the sixth, senior Ariv Camacho got things going with an RBI single. A sacrifice bunt from freshman Josiah Ross scored the second run of the rally before a blistering double to the wall from senior Lukas Torres scored Camacho.
Then in the eighth, five different players recorded RBIs, highlighted by a two-RBI triple from Diego Tavarez.
All in all, Torres paced the Seahawks with three hits, while junior Albert Serrano and senior Chris Conniff garnered multiple hits. Seven different batters drove in runs.
Wright delivered a gem to earn his fifth win of the season. The junior allowed just one run on four hits across eight innings of work.
Junior Connor Hayden will take the mound for tomorrow's matchup against the Dolphins. First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
