Staten Island, NY- The Wagner College men's lacrosse team dropped a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) contest to Siena, 13-5 at Hameline Field on Saturday afternoon.
Siena outscored the Seahawks 4-0 in the opening quarter to take a 4-0 lead into the second quarter.
The Seahawks launched a 2-0 run to open the second quarter to cut the Siena lead in half. Sophomore Jake Mitchell and junior Patrick Caldwell found the back of the net during the run. Following the Wagner run, Siena launched a 2-0 run of its own to take a 6-2 lead. Senior Nick Martini netted a goal to stop the Siena run, the Saints later added a goal late in the second quarter to take a 7-3 lead into halftime.
Siena outscored Wagner 2-1 in the third quarter before outscoring Wagner 4-1 in the final frame. Junior's Dylan Haase and Carson Skinner found the back of the net for the Green & White in the second half.
Sophomore goalkeeper Rudy Zarate stopped 15 shots in the contest.
Wagner will be back in action on Saturday, April 6 when they travel to Sacred Heart at 12:00 pm.
