New Britain, CT - The Wagner baseball team lost its first Northeast Conference (NEC) game of the season on Sunday, dropping the series finale to CCSU, 7-0.
After two thrilling victories on Friday to take the series over the Blue Devils, the Seahawks fell flat on Sunday. They pieced together just three hits on the day as CCSU's Drew Munn threw a complete game shutout.
Freshmen Josiah Ross and Connor Roche, and graduate student Henry Martinez recorded hits.
Freshman Griffin White earned his first career start, allowing three runs on two hits across two innings. White struck out one batter.
The Seahawks utilized six pitchers following White's removal after two innings. Senior Nicholas Hanson pitched a perfect seventh inning with one strikeout.Â
Despite the loss, the Green & White still occupy the top spot on the NEC leaderboard at 8-1. They will look to get back in the win column when they host Merrimack on Thursday, March 28, at 3:00 pm at SIUH Community Park.
