Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College men's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference contest to the University of North Carolina, 18-4 on Tuesday afternoon at Hameline Field.
The Tar Heels outscored the Seahawks 7-0 in the opening frame. Sophomore goalkeeper Rudy Zarate stopped three shots in the opening 15 minutes.
Wagner got on the board in the second quarter as junior Patrick Caldwell scored the goal for the Seahawks. The Tar Heels took a 13-1 lead into the second half.
Wagner outscored North Carolina 3-2 in the third quarter as the Seahawks had three different goal scorers. Sophomore's Max Frissora and Jake Mitchell found the back of the net in the quarter along with junior Conor Julich.
The Tar Heels outscored Wagner 3-0 in the final frame to earn the victory.
Wagner will be back in action on Saturday, March 16 when they travel to Hamden, CT to take on Quinnipiac at 12:00 pm.
